Maribel has been experimenting in the visual arts since childhood, taking a variety of classes and apprenticeships in Chicago as a teen.
She went on to study Italian Studies at Georgetown University, where she briefly studied art history and assisted as a darkroom monitor. During this time, she also took a summer photography course at Columbia College Chicago and a painting class in Buenos Aires at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes.

She currently studies sculpture as a member of the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, working in water-based clay and specializing in figures. If she is not sculpting, she is exploring art exhibits or finding inspiration through dance.
